Monitoring of large Carnivores
At the Department of Evolutionary Biology at the Evolutionary Biology Centre (EBC), Uppsala University, DNA-analyses have for more than 10 years been conducted on wolverine and lynx, on behalf of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and the Norwegian Directorate for Nature Management. DNA-analyses are a part of the carnivore management program.

Collaboration within science and technology
The Faculty of Science and Technology has a common unit for collaboration with schools, industry and society. Mapping of mobile phosphorus and environmentally hazardous substances in sediments from the Baltic Sea
Between 2018 and 2020, the Erken Laboratory coordinated a project in collaboration with the Baltic Sea Center at Stockholm University and IVL Swedish Environmental Institute that mapped the mobilization of sediment phosphorus (internal load) and the presence of environmentally hazardous substances in sediments in the Baltic Sea coastal areas. The project was funded by the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (HAV) and the county administrative boards in Uppsala, Stockholm, Södermanland, Östergötland, Kalmar and Blekinge counties.
