Collaboration within science and technology
The Faculty of Science and Technology has a common unit for collaboration with schools, industry and society. Among other things they organize a annual science festival where our researchers participates and contribute. UPPSALA UNIVERSITY ALUMNI NETWORK
Uppsala University’s Alumni Network is a network for former students and a meeting place for career development and forging professional contacts.
The Alumni Network is for everyone who has studied or worked, or is working at Uppsala University. Also our honorary doctors, guest researchers, board members and others close to the University are regarded as alumni.

Mapping of mobile phosphorus and environmentally hazardous substances in sediments from the Baltic Sea
Between 2018 and 2020, the Erken Laboratory coordinated a project in collaboration with the Baltic Sea Center at Stockholm University and IVL Swedish Environmental Institute that mapped the mobilization of sediment phosphorus (internal load) and the presence of environmentally hazardous substances in sediments in the Baltic Sea coastal areas. The project was funded by the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (HAV) and the county administrative boards in Uppsala, Stockholm, Södermanland, Östergötland, Kalmar and Blekinge counties.
Integrated research and outreach
The Department of Ecology and Genetics (IEG) has a long history of interactions with agencies where we have been involved in monitoring of specific populations, species and ecosystems and used our competence to inform decision makers about the status and future strategies for sustainable management of biodiversity and ecosystem functioning.
