Lillie lab - Conservation Genomics and Immunogenetics
We are primarily interested in the genetic and genomic basis of how species adapt to the environment, and how this knowledge can be harnessed within the field of conservation biology to enhance management actions. We want to characterise adaptive genetic variation (with a particular focus on variation underlying immunological traits), how this is structured within and across populations and undetstand how this variation has been shaped by historical evolutionary forces. These research foci are becoming increasingly relevant under predictions of future climate change and the consequences for vulnerable populations and species.
