Engy Ahmed (Postdoc) comes from Egypt, she is working on a SciLifeLab funded project on metagenomics from lake sediments and she is really good!

Lu Han (Helen) (PhD student) is now back to China after being    working two years in our group. Together with Engy they worked on metagenomcs from lake sediments but she was also involved on other projects dealing with the analysis of ancient DNA from other plant remains.

Kevin Nota (PhD student) is from Holland and has recently started working in our group. He is using shotgun sequencing analysis of serially sampled datasets from environmental DNA extracted from lake and peat sediments from northern and southern Europe and relate biodiversity change with climate change.

Masoumeh Aahmoudi Shamsabad (PhD student) is originally from Iran. She has been working with us for 7 months conducting part of her PhD work in Sweden. She works on the phylogeny and phylogeography of the Iran-Turanian species-complex Achantophyllum squarrosum.

Anne von Woerkom (Internship student) has just started working with us in the ancient DNA lab on on project investigating the glacial survival of Norway Spruce in northern Europe.

Giulia Ghirardello and Alessadro Nobile  (Internship students) are both working in the modern DNA lab on on project investigating the origin of Styrax officinalis from Italy.
